The food we consume not only fuels our physical bodies but also has a profound impact on our overall well-being, including our energetic frequency. Conscious eating, also known as mindful eating, is a practice that involves bringing full awareness and presence to the act of nourishing ourselves. By adopting conscious eating habits, we can shift our frequency and cultivate a deeper connection with ourselves, our food, and the world around us. Cultivating Gratitude and Awareness: Conscious eating begins with cultivating gratitude and awareness for the food we consume. Take a moment before each meal to express gratitude for the nourishment provided by nature and the efforts of those involved in the food's production. By acknowledging the journey of your food from farm to table, you develop a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of all beings and the Earth. This practice of gratitude and awareness shifts your energetic frequency towards a state of abundance and reverence.
I grew up Christian and Muslim, so I was taught to pray over my food at a very young age. Giving thanks to a higher power for the food that was provided over the table. But even one who does not have a practice of praying over their food can adopt the habit of gratitude-it does not hurt to have a practice of being thankful for your food. The frequency of gratitude sends an energetic wave out to the Universe that states, I’m so thankful for what you’ve given,” opening the door for more abundant meals.
2. Engaging the Senses: Conscious eating involves engaging all your senses while consuming food. Notice the vibrant colors, textures, and aromas of your meal. Take small bites and savor each morsel, paying attention to the flavors as they unfold on your palate. By engaging your senses fully, you bring yourself into the present moment, creating a deeper connection with your food and amplifying your energetic frequency. This sensory experience also enhances digestion and absorption, allowing your body to receive optimal nourishment.
I remember the first time I was encouraged to sit and just smell my food. It was during my yoga teacher training almost 9 years ago and we had a conscious eating exercise. I was told to just look at my food and smell it without eating it. It was such a different experience. I realized in that moment that I spent my whole life rushing to eat my meals in fear that I wouldn’t get another one, but not actually allowing myself to really take in the food I was eating with all my senses.
3.Tuning into Internal Signals: Conscious eating encourages you to listen to your body's internal signals of hunger and fullness. Eat slowly and mindfully, paying attention to the physical sensations in your body. Pause between bites and check in with yourself to assess your level of satiety. This practice helps you develop a deeper awareness of your body's needs and fosters a harmonious relationship with food. By honoring your body's signals, you align with your natural rhythm and elevate your energetic frequency.
Once I started this practice I was able to pinpoint the foods that resonated with my body and those that did not. These types of practices assist us with honing in on food sensitivities as well as the types of foods that may or may not be good for our energy levels. While preparing scripts for weigh loss hypnosis,I learned that individuals that don’t rush through their meal tend to be smaller and more athletic in size and tend to not over eat because they give the stomach and brain time to communicate with each other because they didn’t rush through their meal.
4.Making Nourishing Choices: Conscious eating involves making conscious choices about the food you consume. Tune in to your body's wisdom and choose foods that nourish you from a place of love and self-care. Opt for whole, unprocessed foods that provide essential nutrients and support your well-being. Consider the energetic qualities of the food you eat, seeking those that align with your intentions and desired frequency. By consciously selecting nourishing foods, you elevate your energetic vibration and promote vitality and balance.
I know this topic about eating fruits and vegetables has been touched on so many times so I’m fully aware that people are tired of hearing about it. But I can’t stress enough how the energy of what you put in your body effects your body.
A study done at Harvard by a back in 2017 confirmed that what one eats is linked to how one feels. Concluding that a high intake of fruits vegetables was strongly associated to higher mood levels and lower signs of depression. So when I teach about the frequency of what you consume I always remind students to eat foods that are electric and still hold charge. Choose sustainable and ethically sourced options that align with your values. When dining with others, engage in mindful conversations, fostering deep connections and meaningful exchanges. By infusing your meals with mindful presence and conscious connection, you elevate not only your own frequency but also the collective energetic field.
I intentionally choose to buy majority of my produce directly from my local farms or farmers market. I am aware that this not always a convenient option. So maybe exploring a farmers market once a month would be better when you first start to dip your feet into shopping more directly.
When you prepare your food, are you happy? The emotions and feelings we have while preparing what we put in our body is very important. A little trick I love to do is I’ll put on on some of my favorite feel-good music while I’m in the kitchen, dancing and allowing my body to feel joy and happiness, letting out little chuckles of laughter so that my meal is infused with love and joy.
Have you ever ate a meal made by someone that loves you? I don’t know what your experience was, but mine was one of pure bliss. When someone loves you that food be hitting 🤣 like you can taste the frequency that was put into your food. You feel nourished and warm like God just laid a blanket over you and now you can rest.
Conscious eating is a powerful practice that can shift your frequency and transform your relationship with food. By cultivating gratitude, you give thanks for anyone and everyone that was involved in growing your food, and transporting your food through each process before it gets to wherever you purchased it. Engaging in your senses, allows your mind and body to be fully present through each meal and really savor what it is that you are putting in your body.
Tuning into internal signals, helps us connects with our intuition and develop a relationship with our energy body and how what we ingest affects us physically, mentally and emotionally. Making nourishing choices, reminds us to make conscious chooses about eating real food that is still alive and last but now least practicing mindful connection, not only effects us individually but it effects us collectively. You elevate your energetic vibration, promote holistic well-being, and deepen your spiritual journey when you incorporate all the tips above.
